DBAMS.EXE  Multiple Session Control (DBA Classic Only)

Purpose of Program

The DBA runtime engine/menu (TP5WDBA.EXE) has a control within it that prevents users from running multiple sessions.  This is a protection against inexperienced users who mistakenly load up multiple sessions without realizing it and unnecessarily tie up system resources and user counts.

DBAMS.EXE allows you to turn off this control via a change in the Windows registry setting.  It can therefore be run at the individual workstation level and can be confined to more experienced users.

General Program Operation

This program can be run from UT-B  Run a Non-DBA Program or from Windows Run or Windows Explorer.  If run from UT-B, type DBAMS and press <Enter>.  If run from Windows Run, type the path to your programs, followed by \DBAMS (such as F:\DBAMFG\DBAMS).  If run from Windows Explorer, double click on the DBAMS.EXE file, located in your DBAMFG subdirectory.

You will see a large button on the screen that says to either turn on or turn off multiple session control.  Click on it so that the desired setting is displayed, then close the program and the setting will take effect for this workstation.
