CMIMPORT Import Contact Manager

Purpose of Program

Use this program to import records from a Comma Delimited ASCII file to the DBA Classic Contact Manager Account file.  Unlike other import programs, this program imports directly to the master file rather than a temporary holding file so be sure you have a backup of BKCMACCT

General Program Operation

At UT-A, enter program name CMIMPORT.  You are first presented with a reminder that the import will save to the master file and that only comma delimited files are supported.  Next is a file and field map.  Enter the file name (with path) of the ASCII file to be imported.  Long file names and embedded spaces in the file and path names are not supported.  Skip or Replace Existing Customers?  If you choose Replace and a match on Account Code is found, only those fields being imported will be merged into the existing data.  Then enter C for Comma Delimited.  Finally, enter the column number from the ASCII file that corresponds to the fields being imported.  Any unavailable fields should be left blank; there are no required fields.
