UT-F  Assign Printer Fonts/Margins (DBA Classic Only)

Purpose of Program

Use this program to define the printer settings for system reports on each of your workstations.  These settings to do not pertain to graphical forms, labels, or reports.  To change settings for those items, see UT-G  Enter Graphical Print Settings instead.  The printer settings established in this program are stored locally on each workstation.

General Program Operation

When you start the program you will see a standard Windows printer selection window with your default Windows printer displayed.  Select the printer you wish to define and click on the OK button.  The window will close and you will be in the DBA entry screen.

DBA text reports use a non-proportional font.  The default setting in the Font Name field should be Courier New. The Regular Size field should be set to 11, Compressed Size to 7, and Print in Bold to N.

With Windows printing there can be slight variations in print starting positions and line widths among different printers.  The next fields allow you to adjust printing to line up properly on forms and reports with your particular printer(s).  The Margin Side field allows you to move the left hand margin a number of characters to the right.  We recommend you start with a setting of 3 and see if it lines up correctly on our universal forms.  The Margin Top field allows you to move the printing of the first line on the page a number of lines down.  We recommend you start with a setting of 2 and see if it lines up correctly on our universal forms and laser checks.  The Line Size field can increase the width of spacing between lines.  We recommend you start with a setting of 2 and see how universal forms alignment looks on your printer.

When you complete these settings you will be asked if you want to save the printer information.  Press <Enter> or click on Yes.  The printer selection window will display once again.  If you are finished defining printers, you can click on Cancel to suppress the printer selection window, then you can click on Exit to get out of the program and return to the Utilities menu.
