UT-J  Generate DDF Files

Purpose of Program

Use this program to generate DDFs (data dictionary files). These DDFs are only used by the DBA Classic Maintain Database program.  The program will automatically generate one set of DDFs in the root DBAMFG folder for all companies in your system.  If you need to create company specific DDFs for use with Crystal Reports or other ODBC links to the data, use UT-A  Run a DBA Program and run ODBCDDF

A complete set of DDFs is included with the system.  This program is only run if new DDFs need to be created due to changes in the database structures or the creation or deletion of companies.

General Program Operation

When you start the program you will be asked to confirm that you want to create DDF files.  Once the program starts, the existing DDF files will be deleted and new ones will be created for all companies on the system.  Should you ever create additional companies, re-run this program afterwards so that new DDF files will incorporate the new company.

The program will take several minutes to run, depending on computer speed.
